The Challenge

The Professional Development platform helps educators to build competency and confidence in using LEGO® Education products. My task was to conceptualize and develop a gamified structural system to enhance overall user engagement.

The Process

The concept of micro-credentials emerged from extensive research conducted with teachers. This research aimed to understand their professional development needs and preferences. Based on the findings, a team of pedagogues and designers collaborated to create a system that recognizes and rewards teachers’ mastery of specific competencies.

These micro-credentials are designed to be practical and relevant, covering key areas such as Pedagogy, STEAM Concepts, 21st Century Skills, and Classroom Management. The goal is to provide a structured yet flexible way for teachers to enhance their skills and receive acknowledgment for their continuous learning efforts.

Making of

The process for generating each illustration starts with LEGO’s internal 3D modeling tool to create detailed 3D models. These models are then rendered into 2D images, which graphic designers refine by adjusting colors and adding details. The final illustrations are polished and reviewed to ensure they are clear, visually appealing, and consistent with LEGO’s style.
